In the 2023 – 2024 school year, over 25,000 students in St Lucie Public Schools qualified for free or reduced lunch, representing 62.08% of our community’s students.
Persons are regarded as food insecure if, in the previous year, they experienced uncertain or limited availability of nutritionally adequate food.
Simply put, a food insecure person does not know from where his or her next meal will come.
